Anyone can
subscribe to the
Proletarian Democracy
Open List
and will be able to receive posts.
But in order to have the right to post,
you will need to fill out and send in a form (see below) agreeing to respect the rules.
-- The Rules --
- The majority of your posts, and the energy that you put into the list,
will be directed at developing the list focus:
How will economics, politics and culture work
when the working class runs modern society?
- You will treat other list contributors with respect.
This means that you will:
- make a strong effort to listen
to
and consider the views of others
- will take great care to avoid the misrepresentation
or distortion of the views of others
- will not accuse anyone else of
dishonesty
(unless you can prove your accusation
in a way that is concise, credible and
reasonably entertaining to our list audience).

The list will be open to contributors from a variety of views and ideologies.
This will include marxists, anarchists and many people who are not committed
to any fixed ideology--but who recognize that the working class does not rule society
at present--and who believe that it can run society better than the bourgeoisie.
Some contributors may believe that, at some point, the working class ruled
(or presently continues to rule) countries like Russia or China.
Others will believe that genuine working class rule has never existed
(except, possibly, in an embryonic form that never had an opportunity to develop).
However if you don't believe (or are not open to the idea) that society is presently
ruled by a relatively small class of wealth and privilege (ie: the bourgeoisie)
then this list is probably not for you.
Similarly, if you believe that the current ruling class is doing a fine job
running society--then this list will not be the place for you to hang out.

An important note on security
This list will be public. If you post here--your email address (and name)
will exist until the end of time on
public archives that can
(and sometimes will) be easily discovered (using web-based search engines
such as google.com)
by current or potential employers or authorities
who will likely take a dim view of the discussion here--which
may relate to strikes and similar actions
in places of employment and schools (not to mention
the forcible overthrow of bourgeois rule and all existing institutions).
In order to protect yourself against various forms of
harassment and retaliation
(or, if you live in many parts of Asia, Africa and Latin America,
risks to your personal safety) you are
strongly advised to make your
posts using a pseudonym and a hotmail (or similar) email account.
